She saw the stars
and the skies
and the seas
But she saw no beauty in them.
She heard the music
and the laughter
and the quiet
But heard no joy in them.
She smelled the flowers
and the honey
and the air
But she smelled no fragrance in them.
She tasted the sweetness
and the salts
and the berries
But she tasted no sweetness in them.
She felt the wind
and the breeze
and the warmth
But she felt no comfort in them.
That's what it felt like,
drowning.
