Random Christmas rant, but I have to
get this off my chest.
Okay I probably sound really stupid for
this but this is something I DO NOT understand about
Christmas.
Why do people tell their
kids about "Santa Clause" I don't see the point in
it, when they get older and you have to tell them he's not
real than the're just sitting there all sad because you lied
to them all those years, WHAT IS THE
POINT.
I don't see one, I am
NOT telling my kids about "Santa" I don't feel the
need to tell my kids about a fictional fat stalker in a red suit
with a child molesters beard.
I like the joy on his face when he thinks about the 'wonders' this world has and the 'magic' even though it's not real. It makes him happy. And I guess, the fleeting joy outweighs the disappointment that comes when he grows older.
And I was there once, when my parents told me Santa was real, and when I look back, I actually enjoyed those moments of happiness.
Meh, but of course not everyone's the same.
On the flip side, it's a way to get your child to behave when they're young. Then when they get older, they already know how to act so they no longer need to have 'you're not gonna get presents from Santa' hanging over their head.
Also, the idea of santa is magical. when a kid believes in santa it's like one of the most innocent things. and it's pretty cute. plus, parents don't usually tell kids that santa isn't real, they either eventually start to realize it's impossible he is or some a.sshole kid who's parents didn't tell them about santa clause ruins it for the entire class.
