A broken heart cries forever.

I highly doubt it. Most of the 'broken hearts' these days are honestly just self-absorbed teens. 'Everyone, come join my pity party, I'm so depressed!'

Not all of us are like that.

All teens who are on Facebook are.

I don't have a Facebook so I can't agree or disagree on that but that's just Facebook.

I don't mean to argue with you, but I'm cynical. Give me one example of a 'broken heart' that has cried forever. I believe in happiness and renewal, and no human is strong enough to endure through despair 'forever'. What would their purpose of life, and their motivation be? 'Oh, I'm sad.I guess I'll just stay sad'.

Some people may seem okay on the outside, but on the inside they will never get over it and their heart may stay broken. Once something gets broken, it will never be the same again.

I seriously doubt that. There are countless stories in the world about people going through the worst experiences but then piecing back together the fragments of their life. That's all they have left. Hope. So you think they want to be sad forever?

Purposely?

I never said their hearts are purposely broken. A lot of people in this world have broken hearts for a long period of time because they have trouble getting over things, telling people their thoughts, or may be extremely emotionally sensitive, which may end up hurting pretty badly because they're still hurt even if they can confide in anybody.
And having a broken heart means you care a lot. Most people just don't have an eternally broken heart because the person they love to the moon and back are still with them.

You're not answering the main question: 'Do you truly believe that a 'broken heart' can just meaninglessly cry forever? Do you have that little faith in the joviality of the human spirit, and in happy endings? It isn't possible to mourn and cry continuously for that long, it is physically and emotionally beyond a human's capabilities.

Yes, I do believe in happy endings and joviality of the human spirit, but bad things happen that are very fatal to the heart. A person's heart may be broken from problems such as relationships, loss, guilt, and many other painful experiences. Sadness takes quite a beating to the heart. Anyway, nobody in their right mind would be depressed because they want people to feel sympathy towards them. Also, some things hurt worse than you and I could barely imagine. And if you believe that everybody gets their happy ending, then why is it that every 40 seconds, somebody dies due to suicide? Suicide is basically caused be people breaking another's heart and causing them pain. Sure, there is no proof that hearts could be broken, but nobody just tells people about that sort of thing, but that doesn't mean that it has never happened to anybody. Sure, it could be physically and emotionally impossible for the average person to be eternally heartbroken, but not everybody is the average person.

Happiness isn't equal for everybody like it should be, and not all people get their happy ending with their "prince/princess" because the girl/boy may have given up on finding him/her because of past heartbreaks. They've been so heartbroken that they don't even try to find their soulmate, and they're not motivated to love again no matter the circumstance. So yes, happy endings do exist, but some people just never found theirs.

I'm sorry if I come off as mean or rude. I don't usually get in arguments with people outside my family. In a friendly conversation I'm not as mean and rude as I may seem.
