*just a rant it makes me really sad that all my favourite users

This is pretty awkward because I only joined like a few months ago and witty seems alright I guess and then I read all these quotes about how people want the old witty back and it just kind of makes me wish I found this site a couple of years earlier because maybe then I would gave enjoyed it here a little more you know?

don't let it bug you, i'm just being nostalgic and mopey. :P you can still read all the older quotes, they're what i really miss tbh. i'm just not a fan of so much 'awkward' humour yk?

I've seen the older quotes. They have like 10000 faves and like 500 comments. I guess the sense of community was pretty tight back then. I've noticed that there are people leaving everyday. U think you have the right to be mopey. I'd probably be the same...
Tbh it's very rare to find quotes with good humour. Most of them are just reposts of old ones

This makes me so sad :( I used to have so many friends on this site and literally if you were to go on some of their pages all you see is 1293812 comments from me saying I miss them but I'm like the only one left from the "friend group" I was in and oh how I cry

I'm only in really good touch with one girl, but with everyone else that I have contact with outside of witty the conversation never goes outside of "hey how are you" and "i miss you". That's why I dread when people say they're going to leave because I know it won't be the same.

Well, when I joined for the first year or whatever I was at a reaaaally weird part of my life, and i also was kinda shy? so like, i didn't talk to ANYONE. xD But I know how it feels to meet amazing people over the internet and just kind.. slowly lose them. (yes it happened on stardoll ok sue me. *embarrassed sigh*) but I'm honestly still cut up about that. Like, I was so close to these girls, and we just kind of lost contact or drifted apart as we stopped speaking regularly. Idk. But it hurts to think about, and I can relate to you<3

i was a noob but people still liked me tbh
alot of people on here helped me become tthe person i am today, damn.
so even though this site is nothing like it was i gotta thank this site for helping me (im sure im not the only one right) and making me feel good about myself, there was never really a negative feel on here. (well besides the 1d and nuttella and the girl that faked cancer thing but ill let that slide...)

I miss seeing comments on quotes, and when people actually bothered faving quotes. But yeah, witty was a place where we could have friends just like us, now its not even that..its sad.

I've never really had any friends on here (not that I mind, really) but I miss seeing the friendships, y'know? People formed really close bonds on here. And all of the people you listed are honestly witty legends. I remember when some of them first started getting top quotes (I joined in 2009, holy craaaaaaaaaaaap). I remember all the layout makers and the fanart makers. God, it feels like so long ago. Witty has been a safe place for me through the worst years of my life and seeing it so cut off and disconnected like this is awful. I want the 2010-2011 witty back. I want the people who put effort into their quotes, the incredible colour on every page, the conversations on quotes that went on for pages. Even the fights!
So many people have outgrown witty, and tbh, I think I'm starting to as well. I mean, most of the people on here are between 12-16, and I'm nearly 19. I just don't have that much in common with people any more, I can't connect with the quotes and it makes me really sad.

Its weird that even I miss the huge One Direction fight aha, just that people were so active and actually talked to each other x

fdkajfkaj I could nearly cry over how dead this site is. I never had any friends really but I miss scrolling through the newest quotes for literally hours and earning followers after getting a top quote and getting so excited at the possibility of my quote making it to the very top. There's no community here anymore. I feel like everyone's just here because they're too nostalgic to leave.

I agree with this so much. We're in the exact same boat. ♥ I mean, there's only so much individual users can do to try promote that community, you know? *sigh* Let's just keep trying, and hoping, I guess..

they are living their life. They wont be on computer sitting in front of the screen all day long. Some of them wont have time to be on computer because of work, school, activities, etc. Yeah i know a lot of things had changed. But as we grow up, we gotta find better things to do in life and make the best out of it

But as people leave, new people should be taking their place. That's how the whole site recycles itself, or at least that's what used to happen. But the thing is even those who DO still use the site barely use it, or at least, not as much as they used to. And I can't imagine anyone would be attracted to joining an inactive witty.

The reason that even happened though was because people vented on Witty and kept it so private and close to their heats that, when they left, they hadn't told anybody about it that could have taken their place.

(Granted, since I've stopped using Witty to cope with personal issues (for the most part), I've told many people about it, just none of them are active to my knowledge.)

Yeah, Amenah's right...I mean, this isn't exactly a "social media website", but we're still a community of sorts.

I didn't join Witty until a few years after I found it. And yes...there were many rude people way back when. I'm glad you decided to come back and grace us with your presence! :)

It IS really sad. I wish encouraging people to be more active worked...from what I've seen though, it hasn't much. I don't know what's happening to people...if they don't want to talk and make quotes or favorite them, what's the point of being on here? Don't join unless you're going to be a Wittian.

Yes, exactly. Or just.. I mean, is it really so hard to write quotes? You don't even need a pretty format or lots of colour like you used to, you just need to go ahead and write. What's the point of even being a user if you don't write?... And I get that a lot of people like to read quotes as well but even then, if you read a quote, fave it! Unless you really hate it, why not fave it? Isn't that kind of the point!?

Yes! Steve even made the random format button so you don't have to have a "boring" format. If you like a quote even remotely, just fav it! I know Witty doesn't have the biggest population, but we're not THAT small... People complain about the favs on a quote, but they don't favorite more quotes. It's like how we blame society when we ARE society. It's an endless cycle and it makes me want to cry. I love Witty. I want other people to love it too.

& it would be ironic that i was saying this on THIS quote except I actually try to do the best that i can. I try to post quotes regularly, create new nice formats, fave the first 10 pages of new quotes every time i log in

I favorite so many quotes I can't even. I've been trying to post quotes more as well... I really hope Witty doesn't die. It's not gone completely until Steve destroys it. And until that happens, I have hope.
