Because in the end, will it even be worth it? Will all the nights

Because in the end, will it even be worth it?
Will all the nights we stayed up trying to finish up homework,
and all the afternoons spent worrying about that one exam
we never ended up revising for, be worth it in the end?
I'm beginning to the think that goals don't really mean all they said they would,
if the only goal you have is to pass the next test they throw at you,
get through another night with one less minute of procrastination.
I'm beginning to think that the A has a
superiority complex it needs to get rid of.
Because who said every other letter must be worth something
less than A. Who decided that got to be the first?
I want to be an S or an N or a Y,
and I don't want the disappointment that comes with it.
Honestly, the bitterness in our work just quenches
all the sweet, and the sour, well, thats the taste left
in our mouths, its the sour in the letters on that
piece of paper that decides our worth, our future.
It's a yes or a no,
and mine is just a ladder of no's: mocking! mocking!
mocking! You will never climb us;
we are made of only your failures;
we are made of hollow gas,
the exact replica of the faith they have in you.
We are the no's,
we are the e's and f's and the d's
and we are so much more than grades.
