I'm in my artificial
Paradise...don't take me out...please...
I've needed this for so
long...
listening to
the authentic South Pacific beats
as I
hold dearly the most common coin from my homeland...
eyes closed...imagining...
Imagining the waves crashing against
the sharp rocks
as I sit on
the nearby smooth rock, playing my blue guitar
that's slightly out of tune...
watching the
dolphins in the sunset between the times
when
my eyes are closed because I'm indulging my other
senses,
enjoying the gentle sea breeze...the feel...the
smell...the FEEL...
Then I open my eyes...
and I snap out of it...
and realize...that...
I'm
still in Detroit
...a loner in the city...
...a stranger in the town...
...a girl in an adult's
body, an outsider everywhere...
...not grown up yet...because...
...because...well...
I
left
my heart
in my
homeland
...13,763.11
kilometres away...
