T h e W e l c o m e P a r t y . # 2 -*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*- I silently go through the motions of eating breakfast with the 'family'. Soon after the lovely lecture from my mother about proper hygiene we're off through the neighborhood that I don't recognize. I can barely hear my mom go on about the importance of breakfast and how I'd love this new school. I don't think she knows I can't hear her over my music... I watch all the McMansions pass by (told you it was that type of neighborhood) and they soon drop off into more suburban homes and finally to the businesses. I say nothing on the trip or on the way out of the car. My mom waves goodbye as I give her a half interested look and slam the door. "So this is St. Francis..." I think to myself as I begin walking across the vast grassy campus. It was still pretty early so I only saw the nerdy kids and people with 0 periods. I slowly made my way towards the huge set of glass doors painted with the school colors. Blue and white. Why is it always white? Oh well.. Inside was unassuming enough. I checked my locker hall. F. Looks like it wasn't in the main drag. Lucky me. I lazily stumbled up the stairs and began counting locker numbers. I managed a locker right at the end of the hallway, luckier still. I try to open it 3 times before getting the hang of it and jarring it open. "Well at least it isn't full of last year’s lunch." I smirk at my own comment. I slowly start putting up junk in my locker. Various band posters and CD covers, some magnets, paper cut outs and a picture. Just one. Back when I was happy... I start to hear voices coming up the stairs. 7:45, the school ought to be filling up soon. I stuff some extra binders in my locker and set off trying to find my first class. I figure I can be late to any one of my classes and just say I was lost or mauled by a bear. I don't think the teacher would care either way. I stumbled back down the stairs and searched around for C hall. I passed some other kids here and there, till I hit A hall, the main stretch of hallway where everyone spends their time. Being the new kid I decided to take a different route. I didn't feel like getting stared down so early in the day. I quickly head back up another set of stairs to D hall. The upstairs equivalent of A hall. A few less kids by my guess though. So it'd have to work. Suddenly, even over my blaring music flooding out of my headphones, the bell practically breaks the sound barrier, not to mention my ear drums. I watch as kids pack up and slouch off to their class rooms. A little disorientated by the bell, I followed the crowd back down the stairs just to get caught in a bigger crowd at the bottom of the stairs and soon shoved into a wall. No apology, of course. Yeah, it'll be a long day indeed. -*-*-*-*-*-*- writen by me edited by me idea by me characters by me tell me if i should keep going :] constructive criticism is much appreciated!! don't just be a jerk because i know it sucks :/ so tell me what you think please<3

We met in kindergarten. We were best friends. She always told me she loved my eyes. I didn't quite know why. I was in love with her, so of course my face lit up immensely whenever she said it. She was beautiful, kind, and extremely funny. We'd be talking about nothing, and she'd turn to me and whisper, "I like your eyes." One day, I was playing basketball, waiting for her to drive over to my house to have a game with me. Suddenly, I got a phone call. It was her mom. She was in a panic. I couldn't quite understand what she was saying. It sounded like, "Aaron, come quick! Kelsey, accident, Main Street! Blood. Come now!" I had no clue what happened, so I ran to Main Street with my basketball shorts and a tee shirt on. I saw Kelsey's mom helplessly crying, waiting for the ambulance to arrive. I saw a totaled car, blood everywhere. Then I saw her, Kelsey. My heart stopped as I frantically ran over to her. "Kelsey? Kelsey!" She was unconscious. I started crying. I know it isn't very manly, but I couldn't help it. Before I could say anymore, the medics took her away, the main source of blood coming from her head. I went to the hospital that night, I went every night. in fact, the only time I left was to go out to eat, but that's it. The doctors tried getting me to leave, but I refused. It was all my fault. If it wasn't for me, wanting to play basketball with her, she wouldn't be going through this. It was already four days, and she hasn't woken up. On the fifth day, I saw her eyes gently open. "Kelsey?" I called. She wasn't quite awake yet. Suddenly, doctors came rushing in, telling me I had to wait outside. I did, for a few hours. One of the doctors finally came out saying, "I understand that you're Kelsey's friend, Aaron?" "Yes," I whispered. He bit his lip. "She woke up, she's fine, but I'm afraid she has long term memory loss." "Are you serious?" I almost shouted. "I'm afraid so." I didn't meet his gaze. I couldn't. I wasn't going to say anything, so he spoke again. "You can go see her if you want, but she doesn't remember anything, not even her mom." I walked in, trembling in horror. I saw her. She looked helpless as she slept. I waited a few hours, until I saw her eyes opening gently again. I expected doctors to run in, rushing me out. Instead, she looked me straight in the eyes, and whispered, "I don't know you, but I like your eyes."
