Imagine yourself as a castle. You’re designed to be
strong, to withstand all the cannons, and all the objects thrown
at you. Maybe you have a moat and great giant door that’s
locked, so that only the best people, the most loyal, the most
trustworthy can cross. All these things are a part of your
castle, to ensure that all the precious things you keep inside
aren’t damaged. But here’s what you need to make sure
of. Those pillars, the ones that hold the castle up, you need to
build those yourself. You can’t let anyone else be those
pillars, because things change, people come and go and all of a
sudden your castle needs renovating. What happens if those people
who were meant to be your pillars suddenly decide to move on?
Your whole castle will fall won’t it. So build them
yourself. Then no matter what happens, your castle won’t
ever fall.
There

So there's this
castle that's
about a 20 minute drive from my house. It burnt down in the
30's so only the stone exterior remains and it's kind
of hidden in the woods and nobody really knows it's there.
My friend Katie, her friend DeVante and I made that castle our
second home over the summer. On a day where I had to stay home,
Katie called me and said that DeVante hid a bouquet of flowers
in the main fireplace with a note asking her to be his Juliet,
and he'd be her Romeo. Basically he asked her to be his
girlfriend. Now I don't know about you
but that
set the bar pretty damn high for my future
boyfriend.
