Childhood Quotes

All parents damage their children. It cannot be helped. Youth, like pristine glass, absorbs the prints of its handlers. Some parents smudge, others crack, a few shatter childhoods completely into jagged little pieces, beyond repair.

He knew them by sight, by scent, and by their love. He knew they would be together, always.

If we hold on together
I know our dreams will never die
Dreams see us through to forever...

If you’re lost you can
look and you will find
me
, time after time; if
you fall I will catch
you
, I’ll be waiting,
time after time.    ♥

There is a video I found from back when I was three
You set up a paint set in the kitchen and you're talking to me
It's the age of princesses and pirate ships and the seven dwarfs
And Daddy's smart and you're the prettiest lady in the whole wide world...

And now I know why all the trees change in the fall
I know you were on my side  e v e n  w h e n  I  w a s  w r o n g.

   — Taylor Swift, The Best Day

A lot of people feel like they’re victims in life, and they’ll often point to past events, perhaps growing up with an abusive parent or in a dysfunctional family. Most psychologists believe that about 85 percent of families are dysfunctional, so all of a sudden you’re not so unique. My parents were alcoholics. My dad abused me. My mother divorced him when I was six…I mean, that’s almost everybody’s story in some form or not. The real question is, what are you going to do now? What do you choose now? Because you can either keep focusing on that, or you can focus on what you want. And when people start focusing on what they want, what they don’t want falls away, and what they want expands, and the other part disappears.

‘The Secret’ | Rhonda Byrne

If at some point we all succumb
For goodness sake, let us be young.
'Cause time gets harder to outrun,
And I'm nobody, I'm not done.
With a cool, cool breeze and dirty knees,
I rest on childhood memories.
We all got old at breakneck speed,
Slow it down, go easy on me.

Everything we are is anchored
in our childhoods. The drama
comes in how we deal with it.
Are we slaves to our past, or
can we rise above it? This is
the stuff of great stories.

One night, while we slept, our childhood was taken from us. In the morning, we awoke as different versions of ourselves. We finally understood things as they really were. We’d become smarter, savvier, readier for the world … And on that morning, with all of our new knowledge and abilities, we began a lifelong journey to take our childhood back.
