College is harder than you'd think.
You start out at orientation and find
all of your old friends. It's all good.
You're all together again. You hang
out for a little while and talk about the
good old days from high school, and
you maybe adopt a couple of new
friends into the group. All is going well.
Then, you begin to notice that a few
of your friends suddenly aren't trying
to hang out much anymore. They seem
to be in their room all the time or
around other people. They don't even
so much as text you much anymore
unless you say something first.
Classes start. You suddenly have even
less time to hang out with the ones you
still can. You find yourself going to all
of your classes alone and trying so
desperately to find your friends at lunch
or dinner in a cafeteria full of other kids.
You start to drift apart and form new
circles with new people. You see your
friends every once in a while, but it's not
the same as it used to be. You're not so
close anymore. You're suddenly all alone.
College is harder than
you'd think.
