When I first joined witty you had to get 2000 faves to get a top
quote and it meant something. Most of the quotes were original,
not from tumblr or whatever. They were quotes worth reading.
I'm not saying all quotes nowadays are crap, but many if them
are.
Witty isn't for updating people on your life. I am guilty of this myself, but I'm starting to see a lot more of it.
