I was speechless. After a few seconds, I regained my composure. "Oh, okay. Just down the block right?" I laughed at myself, and played with his hair. Cameron gently grabbed my hand, and shook his head.
"Out of state. My mom got a new job." his voice was so quiet I had to strain to hear him.
"So what does this mean?" my voice shook.
Cameron took a steady breath. "We might have to br-" he put his hand on my shoulder.
"NO!" I screamed. He winced.
"This is just as hard for me." now he wouldn't even look at me.
"I can't do this." Tears overflowed. "You're too important to me." I clung onto him.
He wouldn't hug me back. Just patted my back. He stood up, and I was still holding on. When I realized this, I let go.
"I just want you to be happy, and me holding you back isn't going to do that." His lips brushed mine.
"So this is goodbye?" I whimpered, tears falling.
"Yeah.." his voice tappered.
"I'd better go." his arm trailed off my shoulder to the small of my back.
I couldn't look back, I couldn't.
