Chasing Woods
Chapter
Thirteen
There were days until our first game of the tournament and I
wanted LeeAnn to crack before that. Also our school's dance
was Friday night, which was the night before game one. Maybe
I'll let it go until after game one. LeeAnn was constantly on
pins and needles around me, it was fabulous. I know I
shouldn't enjoy someones misery so much, but she deserved it.
Anyone who tries to mess with me and my team had everything
coming to them that I had enstore for them. Friday at
school, everyone was buzzing about the dance and it was nice to
put the nerves of the game aside for now.
"So is there a certain color I should wear tonight?"
Austin asked slipping into the seat next me to at lunch.
"I have no idea. Wear whatever color you want."
"Well don't couples match at dances?"
"When its more formal but tonight I'm nout sure it
matters."
"Well wanna give me a hint to the color your top is?"
Austin asked wiggling his eyebrows. Oh.my.god. he was so cute.
"Green." I smiled at him. I was actually really excited
about my outfit for the night. Cute green sweater that went
to my elbows , a jean skirt and grey toms. Simple but still cute
enough for the dance. Allie leaned over and whispered in my
ear.
"Anything planned for tonight on LeeAnn?"
"No. I'm gonna wait till after the first game. But you
know what let's just have fun tonight." My best friend
smiled. Oh yeah it was gonna be a good night.
******************************
That night me and Allie arrived at the dance together. Allie had
on a cute purple top that had a scoop neck and like me had a jean
skirt on. Most of the girls had jean skirts on tonight. Some
seventh grade girls were over dressed in fancy dresses but it was
their first dance so you kind of couldnt blame them. Only kind of
though. I saw LeeAnn when we walked in she was in a white v-neck
t-shirt and a tight pink skirt and clearly flirting with Fitz and
JR. Or should I say trying since they weren't really paying
attention to her. Had to love my boys. Speaking of that where was
mine. Thats when two arm slipped around my waist. Jumping because
it starleted me for a second I whirled around and came face to
face with Austin who I should not have been surpised was ina
green polo and jeans.
"Like my shirt?" He grinned at me.
"Well I cant argue with a cute guy in my favorite
color."
The night was going perfectly smooth. The guys on the team were
snubbing LeeAnn and Austin was one heck of a dancer. That boy had
almost as good of moves as he did on the basketball court. Late
in the dance Cam stole me for a slow dance we were chatting like
normal when suddenly he said,
"Uh-oh."
"What?" I asked glancig to where he was looking to find
LeeAnn attempting to drag my boyfriend onto the dance floor.
"Let me go." Cam immediately released me but followed
closely. "Get your hands off of my boyfriend."
"You don't own him!"
"He's my boyfriend. Go dance with someone who actually
wants to dance with you. Oh I'm sorry no one does."
"I think your boyfriend does but he doesn't want to hurt
your precious feelings." She shot back.
"My boyfriend would never want to dance with you after what
you did."
"What are you talking about?" She took a step back. She
was scared. Good.
"You know exactly what I'm talking about and I think
it's time everyone knew about it." I took off toward the
D.J.
"Woods stop!" Leenn practicly wailed but it was too
late the microphone was in my hands.
"Hey guys you know how the accusations of Austin were
dropped because he was falsely accused of sabotaging the team
right before our first round regional game. But the true culprit
isn't Austin but they do stand among us tonight. Does
everyone want to know who it is?" I didn't even wait for
a response. "There is video proof that the person who faked
a phone call from Austin's cell phone was LeeAnn
Randerson." I pointed and the room gasped and turned to
look. She ran out of the gym. It was public humiliation at its
best. Allie ran up to me.
"You got her! Omg Woods that was great."
"Sure was."
Too bad it didn't make me feel one bit better.
