that damage i caused keeps me far away from the people who have left because i don't give myself permission to reach out. i got selfish and rude and impossible with you at the end but i was with everyone. Yeah, I get that. I think I can really relate to this, not because nobody I know is artistic in any way, but because they think literature is a waste of time. Because of that, I let them know, in many ways, that I will not follow their patterns, just to get rid of unwanted expectations. After generations and generations of doctors and engineers, I almost always answer with "psychology and philosophy" when people ask what I'd want to study. Now my parents are used to the idea of me being a bit weird. So now I almost always skip the advice about me wasting my time on arts and literature
