The kids in R rated movies... are they allowed to see them?

I've always wondered this.

You know that movie, Schindler's List? I think it's a 15s or 18s... I dunno. Anyway, the girl that plays the small child in the red coat promised the director she wouldn't watch it until she was old enough. She watched it when she was 11 and apparently she's haunted by nightmares every night and even goes to therapy.
So yeah. Fun fact.
