The repeating tracks seemed to get quieter as we sat hand and hang beside the pool. I couldn’t look up, too nervous of what could happen if I did, I was so afraid of what might happen next. At the end of that great night I didn’t see him again, I missed him like crazy, and had Jonas Brothers on repeat just laying thinking about him. When we returned to school to start the seventh grade he came back with a girlfriend, my best friend. I went to the bathroom and cried, I missed first block but I didn’t care, I felt sick to my stomach, how dare they both betray me like that. I pulled myself together and faked the smile like it was my job. Damn I was a tough kid. I went through the entire year with few thoughts of my past lover. Summer came and went and soon it was time to face eighth grade. I walked the halls in shorts that made my butt look great and my floral tank top and I strutted down those halls but suddenly I stopped dead in my tracks, there he was… in many of my classes. Would I get his heart? Or would I have to keep admiring from afar..?

It was an early rising that day, for a Saturday I was not suppose to be up and about before eight o’clock. But a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do. The night before I could barely sleep, all I did was lie there thinking about him and how he’s everything I’ve ever wanted in a guy, so I decided early that morning at 3:07, I was going to make him mine no matter how long it took me. We were going to see if there was actually something special between us, if he really did ruin what could have been us. I prepped myself so I looked as good as it was going to get, but I figured he has seen me at my worst, a few flaws won’t kill it. Dressed and ready to go I made my way to the fields. And there he was, pitching a tent with his little sister on his back. Why is that guys are so much more attractive when they’re good with kids?! I took a deep breath and made my way to the tent. “Well hey there, didn’t think I’d be seeing you here this year!” With his half grin on his face he replied, “what you think I’d miss out on this..?”

If it wasn't for me, wanting to play basketball with her, she wouldn't be going through this. It was already four days, and she hasn't woken up. On the fifth day, I saw her eyes gently open. "Kelsey?" I called. She wasn't quite awake yet. Suddenly, doctors came rushing in, telling me I had to wait outside. I did, for a few hours. One of the doctors finally came out saying, "I understand that you're Kelsey's friend, Aaron?" "Yes," I whispered. He bit his lip. "She woke up, she's fine, but I'm afraid she has long term memory loss." "Are you serious?" I almost shouted. "I'm afraid so." I didn't meet his gaze. I couldn't. I wasn't going to say anything, so he spoke again. "You can go see her if you want, but she doesn't remember anything, not even her mom." I walked in, trembling in horror. I saw her. She looked helpless as she slept. I waited a few hours, until I saw her eyes opening gently again. I expected doctors to run in, rushing me out. Instead, she looked me straight in the eyes, and whispered, "I don't know you, but I like your eyes."
