- ------------UNPLANNED----------- CHAPTER TWENTY EIGHT -CALLIE'S POV- "Callie, just come in, you'll be fine," Jake shouted to me over the crashing of waves behind him. I dipped my toe into the icy cold salt water, pulling it back immediatley. "there's no way!" i told him, stepping back onto the wet sand behind me. Jake gave me a sad face, floating in the water while he pulled his hair from his forehead. the bright July sun nearly blinded me, and i could feel the tan seeping into my skin as we spoke. I turned my attention back to Jake, who was still glaring at me, and crossed my arms, shaking my head. He rolled his eyes, turning back around just as a huge wave crashed over him. I was glad i had turned down his offer, standing on the beach was much safer. I inspected my bright red bikini as i waited for him to resurface from the water. i took the sunglasses off of my face, dropping them into Jake's cloth bag behind me. when i walked back to the edge of the water, feeling the small waves crash on my ankles, i felt something grab me by the leg. I screamed, feeling my feet lift out from under me, falling face first into the water. When i came back up for air, now completely soaked, i could still feel Jake's hand on my ankle. Rubbing the salt out of my eyes, i gave him a half hearted smile, and he smirked back at me, obviously proud of getting me in the water. "you know.. it's not really that bad," i told him, feeling my body adjust to the cold. "i told you," he picked me up, one hand holding my legs & one holding my back, and twirled me around in the water before throwing me & dropping me a few feet away. this time, i grabbed his ankle and pulled him under the water with me, feeling it churn around us. when we finally stood up again, the water up to my waist, Jake smiled at me, wrapping his arms around me. i mirrored his smile, moving closer to him, closing the gap between us. when he leaned in to kiss me, softly touching his lips to mine, i felt like we were completely alone in the world. nothing else mattered besides this moment, right here, right now, with Jake. sorry it took me so long to post this chapter, i've been really busy with homework & stuff. anyway, this is the last chapter, i hope you liked it. it wasn't as good as it could have been, i'm just really excited for my next story. i should be posting soon, so stay tuned (; i love you all.
- FREE FALLING CHAPTER ONE - H a n n a h ' s P o i n t o f V i e w - The hot, musty air of William’s High stuck to my skin, making my tan arms and legs shiny from the heat. I took in a deep breath, observing the crowded hallway around me. People milled by, walking in every direction. Some, binders in hand, walked with friends, talking about the latest gossip. Others clung to their backpacks, heads down as they pushed through the clusters of people, rushing towards their next class. As I walked, my brown sandals clacking against the marble floor, I could feel people staring, boring holes into the back of my head. My sandy blonde curls bounced on the shoulders of my light purple shrug top, and I could detect the jealous looks from every girl that passed. I hated those looks, but of course Holly loved them. Holly, Miss Perfect and William’s certified drama queen, was walking beside me, Gucci purse in hand. Her bleach blonde hair and flawless figure attracted enough attention, but to top it off, she had the brightest blue eyes and straightest white teeth anyone had ever seen. Needless to say, she was the envy of everyone she met. I was just her studious, quiet sister, who had somehow been sucked into the popularity along with her. Holly and I may be twin sisters, but we are as different as it gets. Holly, a flirty socialite with ‘passing’ grades and an endless closet of expensive clothes, was a trendsetter, constantly being followed by her group of wannabes. I, on the other hand, preferred to stay under the radar, as far away from drama as possible. I didn’t need to bother with friends or clothes because Holly did all of that for me, somehow fitting me into her popular group with her rich friends and endless invitations to parties. In truth, I was just a shy, smart girl living in the shadow of her overly talkative, underly disciplined, sister. But of course, that’s not how everyone else saw it. Ever since my dad got his new job and started making decent money, it seemed like everything had changed. Our townhome became a huge house, my overly stressed and always working mom turned into a housewife, and my run down public high school turned into William’s High, the most prestigious private school in Rhode Island. Everything seemed to change, except for me. I was still the same nerdy, reserved girl I had been before, but now I had a popular twin sister to help me along. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . I shook any thoughts from my head, concentrating on opening my locker, the one next to Holly’s. I ignored, as I always did, the whistles that she received from countless boys on a day-to-day basis. She pretended that she didn’t notice, even though I knew from the subtle half smile on her face that she was content with the fact that guys noticed her. I was happy for Holly and her new life. It was where she belonged. Ever since we were little, Holly had always been pushed around, whether it was being bullied on the playground or made fun of for her cheap sneakers or lame lunch box. How she had risen from that to become William’s junior prom queen, I had no idea, but I was glad that she finally got the respect she deserved. “You ready to go?” Holly asked, just as I closed my locker, looking at it one last time. The shelves were empty, and all that was left was maroon colored paint. The same maroon colored paint that had been there before I had moved into this locker, unchanged by my presence. As I closed the door, twisting the lock, I realized that my locker wasn’t mine anymore; it was just like all the others. A clone, something that used to be special, but now it was ordinary. It was just a locker, hardly distinguishable aside all of the others. If it wasn't for me, wanting to play basketball with her, she wouldn't be going through this. It was already four days, and she hasn't woken up. On the fifth day, I saw her eyes gently open. "Kelsey?" I called. She wasn't quite awake yet. Suddenly, doctors came rushing in, telling me I had to wait outside. I did, for a few hours. One of the doctors finally came out saying, "I understand that you're Kelsey's friend, Aaron?" "Yes," I whispered. He bit his lip. "She woke up, she's fine, but I'm afraid she has long term memory loss." "Are you serious?" I almost shouted. "I'm afraid so." I didn't meet his gaze. I couldn't. I wasn't going to say anything, so he spoke again. "You can go see her if you want, but she doesn't remember anything, not even her mom." I walked in, trembling in horror. I saw her. She looked helpless as she slept. I waited a few hours, until I saw her eyes opening gently again. I expected doctors to run in, rushing me out. Instead, she looked me straight in the eyes, and whispered, "I don't know you, but I like your eyes."
