I Dare You . .

Chapter
Three
I shivered, the cold breeze biting
at my cheeks. It didn't take long to get to Casey's. A
little part of me was worried that my mum would find out that I
was gone. She'd be worried sick and end up getting a search
party together to look for me.
That same miniscule part wanted to run back home and jump into
bed, where I was safe. I shook the feeling out of my head and ran
the last few steps up to my best friend's house. I knocked on
the door.
"Zeeeeee!" Casey squealed as she flung the white
door open. She looked beautiful. Her shiny red hair was curled
and bounced off her shoulders, bordering her face neatly. Her
hazel eyes were framed with black mascara and liquid eyeliner.
She had put a neat covering of light pink lipstick over her lips,
which drew the attention back to her eyes and cheekbones, which
had a dusting of peachy coloured blusher.
"Wow!" I exclaimed, leaning forward to hug her. She
blushed, a red tinge which ran over her face. I walked into the
house and Casey pointed up the stairs.
"You can put your bag in my room," she grinned and so I
casually ambled up the stairs and walked into her room. It was
huge, with a matte white covering the walls. The floor was
pristine; her black hug nicely hoovered. A huge double bed took
up half of the far wall. The duvet that was spread over it was
black and white, like the cushions. A flat screen TV hung on the
opposite wall, near the wooden door. I could hear the first few
guests who had already arrived so I made my way downstairs to
help greet them all.
"So, what did your mum say?" Casey asked, between all
the 'hello's' she was giving out.
"Well, basically, what happened is that I asked her if I
could stay tonight and she told me I couldn't. I had a go and
told her I hated her," I replied, guiltily.
"And?" prompted Casey.
"I went and got ready and then told her I was going to
bed."
"Won't she check on you and see that you're not
there?"
"I put stuff under the duvet."
I didn't want to tell her I put teddies under there because I
was afraid she would laugh at me. Even though she is my best
friend, I was still worried she'd mock me, for still having
stuffed toys at the age of fourteen.
"Nice one; how did you get out of the house,
though?"
"Drainpipe."
Casey's jaw dropped to her feet.
"Zelda Smith actually climbed down a drainpipe? That's
coming from the girl who won't jump down from something which
is four feet high!"
I laughed and looked around the hallway. People were already
spilling in to it because there wasn't enough space in the
rooms.
"I thought you said it was going to be small?" I asked,
raising a perfect eyebrow. She looked embarrassed but stayed
quiet.
"Jake, Angel, Google and Julia are staying,” she said,
trying desperately to change the subject. Google was one of the
coolest kids in our year – he was so funny, it was
unbelievable. Everyone liked him, and he was fairly popular. He
wasn’t a stuck-up popular though. His real name was Peter
but everyone called him Google because he had huge, blue eyes.
Funnily enough, he walked through the door right as we mentioned
him.
“Hey,” he said. He hugged each of us in turn and
walked off to find his best friend, Lucy. “Let’s get
this party started, then,” Casey exclaimed, her eyes bright
with excitement. Soon enough, several people were drunk. Casey
had said that whoever overdid their drinking limit, they’d
be out and soon enough, the house was nearly empty. It was
already eleven o’clock, at night.
Waving the last few guests off, Jake, Angela, Google, Julia,
Casey and I made our way upstairs, with some snacks. I still had
the bottle in my bag...
“What about drinks?” Julia said, as we entered
Casey’s room.
“Oh, yeah!” Casey said, slapping her forehead.
“One sec-“
“I’ve got some,” I interrupted.
“Alcohol.”
“Zelda’s got alcohol?” Julia mocked. I scowled
at her.
“I’m not a baby!” My brow furrowed.
“Sure,” she said. We didn’t get along, and
Casey knew that. She had to invite her, though, because she was
her cousin.
“Julia...” Casey muttered, warningly.
The blonde-headed, tall girl rolled her blue eyes. I got the
bottle out and sat on the floor with the others.
“Let’s play a game,” Google said. “Truth
or dare?”
“Sure!” they all said. I went along with it.
“Zelda, you can go first, if you want,” Angela
smiled, and I nodded.
“Dare, please,” I said. Angela, Julia, Jake, Google
and Casey discussed what they were going to give me.
“Okay,” Jake said. “I dare
you...”

Chapter
Two
"I'm home," I called
out into the empty darkness of the hallway. I threw my bag onto
the floor and kicked off my plain, black pumps. I pattered
through to the living room. No-one occupied it so I had the telly
to myself. As soon as I settled down on the sofa and was about to
switch the television on, my mum burst through the front
door.
"Zelda, are you in?" she yelled. I sighed and got
up.
"Yes, I'm in," I muttered.
"Take your shoes and bag upstairs, please," she
ordered, slightly flustered. Her hair was askew and her clothes
were crumpled.
"Wind," she explained as I picked up my belongings.
"You look like you want to tell me something."
"Yeah, uhm... Casey wants me to stay at hers
tonight."
"No, sorry, darling."
I was shocked.
"Why?" I yelled, my face red with anger.
"Because it's a school night and her parents aren't
going to be home," my mother replied, calmly. She pushed
past me, heading for the kitchen. She had a shopping bag in each
hand.
"Why, are you worried we won't get up? I've stayed
at hers before when her parents haven't been home and
we've still managed to get to school on time!" I
screamed, following her.
Mum was silent.
"You don't trust me."
She still didn't say anything, quietly unpacking the
food.
"Mum-" I began, before she cut me off.
"The answers no, Zelda Grace Smith," she said,
finally.
"I hate you!" I screamed and ran off
upstairs.
Tears streaming down my face, I threw my colourful bag and my shoes
at the wall, creating a huge thud. It was so unfair! I hated
her.
I was fully intended on going to that party, whether she liked it
or not.
I quickly texted Casey: 'hey, mum don't want me 2 come 2
da party but
i'm
still comin nd i've got a plan xx'
I looked at the time - it was half past three. The party started
at five. That gave me enough time.
"Mum, don't bother making me dinner," I shouted,
wiping the tears from my face. "I'm going to bed
soon."
"Okay," she replied.
I pulled a plastic JD bag out of my cupboard and put in my
night-clothes and some underwear. I was planning on coming back
home in the early hours of the morning and pretend I was sick so
I got the day off school. I dragged out my makeup bag and applied
some across my face, until I was happy with my
appearance.
Plugging my straighteners in, I dragged them through the ends of
my hair. I pulled out a dress that came above the knee and put it
on.
I continued packing everything I'd need for the night. I
threw my deep black heels into the bag and slipped my school
shoes onto my feet for the time being.
Searching around in the deep depths of my wardrobe, I found my
hidden bottle of alcohol. I put that into my bag as well,
put it on my back and went out onto the landing.
"I'm going to sleep now, Mum," I yelled down, and
ran back into my room. I put some teddies under the duvet until i
was satisfied that it looked like a body. Tip-toeing over to my
window, I opened it and climbed out. It was half past four
already. Closing the window again, I shimmied down the drainpipe
until my feet touched the ground.
This surely was going to be a night to remember...
I know it's really crap:/
& my description isn't up to much either. ;D
Oh well.

Chapter
One
"Zelda!" my best friend,
Casey, yelled across the courtyard.
"Casey!" I called back and ran across to hug her.
"I was looking for you," I complained, stepping back
and grinning at her.
"Sorry," she apologised. "I was handing out
leaflets for this party I'm having."
"What party?" I asked, hurt that I hadn't been
invited yet.
"Didn't I tell you?" she seemed surprised.
"It's just gonna be a little one whilst my parents are
away."
"Little?" I sneered, raising my eyebrow. Casey's
idea of a little party was my idea of a huge one. It always ended
up with the house trashed and Casey grounded.
She looked embarrassed as she said, "Yeah, but I promise
it'll be small this time."
"'Cause we all believe that, don't we," I said,
and swept my fringe out of my face. "So, where's my
leaflet?"
My petite best friend handed me a piece of paper. It was quite
colourful with words written in bold, big font.
Information was scattered about the page - what time it started
and whereabouts it was being held.
"Cool, I'm definitely coming!" I grinned.
"Oh, and a few people are staying after - can
you?"
"Sure."
My mum would say yes - she didn't mind me sleeping at
Casey's.
Suddenly, the bell rang, cutting our conversation short. We had
different classes so we walked off in opposite directions.
When I arrived outside my English lesson, my teacher, Miss
McKormic, was waiting outside the door, a stern
look on her face. Her arms were crossed over her flat chest and
her eyebrows were high.
"You're late," she snapped. She held out a hand.
Sighing, I gave her my planner so she could write a detention in.
I ambled into class.
"Zelda," Jake called, a small smile playing on his lips
- he was crazy for me. Everyone knew.
Grinning back, I walked over to sit besides him. I flung my bag
over the chair and turned to face him.
"Hey," I said.
"Zelda Smith!" Miss McKormic screamed and I looked up
in surprise.
"What do you think you're doing? First you arrive late
and then you sit and talk!" she spat. I had to suppress a
giggle.
"Zee, shut up," Jake hissed, pretending to scribble in
his planner.
I rolled my eyes.
I muttered a quick apology and kept my head down.
I was determined to stay out of trouble for the rest of the day -
I didn't want any more detentions to bring me down.
Sorry it's so suckish.
It gets better. ;D
