ik how you feel i had to do the same thing with my parents. i chose my dad. i saw my mom during the summer. it was hard, but if there making you choose, dont worry about hurting them. they should know it hurts you to. do what you think would benefit you not them. they put you there, now do what makes you happy.

ok u live in chicago i would say new york cause its also a cirty so u know how 2 live there (in a city) and i also live in chicago so i know that its better 2 live in a city
Id personally go with my mom just because im a chick, so is she, and i think my dad would drive me insane. hes a dude. he doesnt understand my.....needs. thats a tough on. it depends on your relationship with each parent.
Try not to chose between parents so much as choose between situations, like your school, friends or how close to other relatives you'll be. Do you live in either New York or Portland already, because it might be a good way to choose, by living with the parent that's staying put.

I live in Chicago right now, my parents are both moving D: I dont have any relatives or friends in New York or Portland. Im leaning towards new york because i want to live there when I'm older.. but i know my mom would be really hurt. and portland is pretty cool
Well that's a good way to look at it because you don't want to hurt either parent, but one *will* inevitably feel hurt. It's not your fault. Do you have any siblings? What are they doing? And it's NYC, not New York state, right?

yep, nyc. my older brothers are both going to be going off to college so it doesn't really affect them. my little brother is probably going to portland
