Perfectly Imperfect
Chapter 3 //

The rest of the
school day actually went pretty well. Sometimes I saw
Cameron in the hallway, and whenever he looked at me, he smiled
and waved. I did the same. I told Holly all about
what happened this morning during lunch. She had smiled and
said "That's awesome. Maybe you and him can date
someday?" then she winked. I silently chuckled to
myself. Yeah, like Lexy's boyfriend would ever want to
date me. I was walking to the bus stop, and Cameron
suddenly ran in front of me. "Hey, you have a cell
phone?" he quickly asked. I stopped walking.
"Yeah, I do. Why?" I replied, smiling a bit.
"Oh, no reason, I was just wondering if I could have
your number" he said with a smile and a slight wink. I
grabbed a piece of paper out of my backpack, wrote my number
down, and handed it to him. "Thanks. I'll text you
later" he said, then ran back towards the school. I
got aboard the bus and sat in my usual seat, next to Holly.
"Cameron asked me for my number!" I squealed.
"OMG, that's great! He must like you if he asked
you that" she said. "But I probably never have a
chance. He's Lexy's boyfriend, isn't he?" I said with
an unfortunate tone. "Yeah, he is. But you can get him
away from her" she replied, winking.
"Haha, I hope, because I think I'm starting to
like him" I said, a bit of nervousness in my voice.
"I'll help you" she said, excitedly.
"I can do it for myself. I may be from England, but I
still know how to flirt" I said, laughing. Holly and I
just talked about random topics for the rest of the ride. I
got home and started to work on my homework. When I was in
the almost done with my history homework, my phone vibrated
beside me. "New text from: 123-555-6789"
It's probably Cameron. I opened the text, and it
read "hey amy, its cameron(: wanna hang out?" Did he just
ask me to hang out with him? Oh my gosh. I added his number
to my phone, then replied with "hiii :) sure! where?" I
finished the remaining homework I had, which was only a few more
questions on history, while waiting for his reply. My mom
always wants me to have my homework done before I do anything
fun. My phone vibrated again. "how about
Strumen
Park? 147 maple street(: see u there @ 6?" the text from him
read. I glanced at the clock, 5:18. "that sounds
great. see u soon :)" I quickly replied. I started to
get ready. I didn't change out of my outfit from
school, because I thought then I'd seem too
diva-ish, like I have to change my clothes every time
I go somewhere different, which isn't me. I just fixed
my hair and touched up my makeup. I grabbed my cell phone
and a jacket and skipped downstairs. "Mom, I'm
going to the park" I quickly said to my mom, who was sitting
on the couch watching soap operas. "Who with?"
she sternly said, looking away from the screen. Oh crap, if
my mom hears I'm hanging out even close to a boy, I'll be
grounded. She hates when I'm around guys, which
explains why I've only had one boyfriend in my whole life,
and even at that, the relationship only lasted two months.
"Um, Holly..." I lied, hoping it'd pass.
"Be back by 9" she replied and glued her eyes
back to the television. I quickly walked out the door and
walked to Strumen Park. I found it within 10 minutes, and
I saw Cameron. The park was pretty empty, actually.
"Hey!" he said with a warm tone.
"Heeey" I replied. Okay, now let's hope
this is going to go good, and I won't screw anything
up.
