Prologue
Her eyes shone bright, infused with
the unshed tears she refused to drop. Her arms at her side were
shaking, just like the rest of her body. She could not control it
anymore, it seems; she, however, could control the sobs that
threatened to escape.
Nobody will hurt her again. She had made
the mistake of letting people in; of trusting those that said
cared about her. Too bad they were all lies; too bad all they
were looking for was a way to hurt her.
Maybe she should clap though. After all,
they had find her deepest insecurity, her deepest fear, and her
most terrifying secrets; it was only expected that they used it
against her. She hoped though, oh God how she hoped, that they
were being truthful to her. That they truly cared about her. How
very wrong she was.
With trembling hands, she reached
out towards one of the millions of papers glued to the lockers,
and grasped it with both hands. She had to stop and take a deep
breath to calm her shaking, to be able to read it, but after a
few minutes, she raised the paper close to her eyes.
"Edelyn Ross."
Her name was printed in large, capitalized, red letters at the
top of the paper. She closed her eyes as she read the next
sentence.
"Don't know her?
Consider yourself lucky then, but not for long."
"These are her 15 secrets.
Enjoy."
