I, Claire Hayes, am the school cheerleader's captain. I'm blond and have dead blue eyes, something all guys fall for. Well, most of them anyway. I haven't got the easiest life. My parents are rich and mostly they see me as a Barbie, buying me amazing clothes, but not looking out for my feelings. I can't complain, since I'm the one who made them into these. After practice, I went over to Linda, my best friend's house. Once we were there, we heard someone talking on the phone, sounded like he was arguing. "Shh, did you hear that?" Linda whispered to me. "Is Bryan home?" Linda nodded. "It's probably him anyway." I comforted her. "But-" BAAM. I saw someone fall down the stairs. Linda screamed. "Oh my god! It's-" "C-Cody?" I cut her off. We both ran towards him. "CODY! CODY!?" Linda shouted, trying to wake him up. - Keep holding on Chapter 1. The rest of the day passed slowly. Jake, the jerk, thought he should flirt with Linda. Paige went to her boyfriend's house because she needed 'personal time'. pft. I started doing the work I didn't do yesterday, because I was at the hospital and not school. Today is Saturday. All I could think of was Cody. You see, he is my ex. We broke up last month since 'we' decided that is wasn't right. He decided to be honest. We were together for 7 months. I miss her warm skin and soft lips. How did he just fall down the stairs? Was he pushed? Where was Bryan, Linda's brother? My thought got interrupted by my phone ringing. It wrote 'Bryaaan:]' on the screen. I signed as I opened it. "Hey" Bryan sounded nervous. "Hi bry, where were you yesterday?" He hesitated, "..Home" "Oh, so you were with Cody?" "Actually yes, we were playing video games and he said he needed to use the toilet." He answered. "Did you see him then?" "Not really, though he sounded.." He waited for a moment than whispered "drunk." "Wha-" "I don't know. I don't even know where he came from. He wouldn't answer me." "I need to go, thanks for calling me." I said as I closed the phone. I looked at the wall for a few seconds the decided I should go to Cody's house since it is a few yards away from my house and I could get a chance to talk with someone home. Once I was there Sandra, Cody's sister, opened the door. "Hey." I faked a smile. "Oh.. hey.." She said, not so comfy. "Come inside, we need to talk." She walked to the sofa and signaled me to sit next to her on the sofa. "So you were at Linda's yesterday?" "Yeah.." I said looking into her mysterious eyes. "Was Amy there?" She asked, not showing any emotions on her face. "I didn't see her. Well, I wasn't there for long. 2 minutes and we heard Cody fall." "Oh, okay." She sounded relived. She took my hand and walked upstairs to Cody's room. I stood there not sure if I should go in. "Come in, I've got to show you something." She took a phone from Cody's desk, probably his phone. She started pressing some buttons. "Look." She said, handing me the phone. I took it. From: Ammmyy To: Me. Hey Codss, come over to ours today? ;) I've got some drinks and a bed ready. She bullies every girl under her and is all over hotties. She always gets what she wants. I don't know how, but somehow she sees everything and knows every gossip. It's like she has a file of everyone's secrets. No one can come against her. "Well, well, well. I see Sandra and her stupid friend have seen my little message." I turned around, and so did Sandra. 'No, no, no. Amy is NOT here.' I thought to myself. Amy pinned Sandra to the wall and I ran out the room and down the stairs. What just happened?! If it wasn't for me, wanting to play basketball with her, she wouldn't be going through this. It was already four days, and she hasn't woken up. On the fifth day, I saw her eyes gently open. "Kelsey?" I called. She wasn't quite awake yet. Suddenly, doctors came rushing in, telling me I had to wait outside. I did, for a few hours. One of the doctors finally came out saying, "I understand that you're Kelsey's friend, Aaron?" "Yes," I whispered. He bit his lip. "She woke up, she's fine, but I'm afraid she has long term memory loss." "Are you serious?" I almost shouted. "I'm afraid so." I didn't meet his gaze. I couldn't. I wasn't going to say anything, so he spoke again. "You can go see her if you want, but she doesn't remember anything, not even her mom." I walked in, trembling in horror. I saw her. She looked helpless as she slept. I waited a few hours, until I saw her eyes opening gently again. I expected doctors to run in, rushing me out. Instead, she looked me straight in the eyes, and whispered, "I don't know you, but I like your eyes."
