Let it Shine
Chapter 1
It was 5:00 in the morning, and I already had my guitar tucked in my lap. The way my fingers moved up and down each string, just felt like home to me.
I was in the process of writing an original. Hopefully this song would be my one way ticket out of the hell I call my life.
Loud footsteps echoed outside of my door. That was my signal that I was too loud. Robert was coming and I had to do the usual routine.
I threw my guitar under my bed, and jumped under the covers.
"RILEY. WHAT WAS THAT GARBAGE I HEARD COMING FROM HERE? WHAT DID I TELL YOU ABOUT THAT?"
I pretended to yawn to try to brace myself for the blow I knew would come.
"I wasn't doing anything Robert. I swear, I was sleeping."
He hated me. He hated music, and he hated how I looked so much like my dad. My real dad, not Robert, the poser who came into my life to take my mom's money.
SMACK.
I felt the blow on my face. It wasn't hard enough to break anything, but I definitely would have major bruising. My life really did suck. I decided to go take a shower to try and lessen the bruisng as much as possible. I cake my face in cover up to cover any traces of green that were there.
I threw on my school uniform and ran out the door. It was only 6:30 but I figured if I walked, it would take me an hour to get there anyway. The cool breeze of the walk would clear my mind.
I sang my song the whole way to school. It was an adele type love song full of emotion and I was proud of it.
i got to school like 45 minutes later.
"Eww, Molly. Look at all the makeup Riley has caked on her face isn't she disgusting?"
Amanda whispered in her little clone , Molly's, ear.
It's funny how people were so quick to judge without even knowing what I go through. All I have to remember is that one day I'll be living in a big old city and all they're ever gonna be is mean. I'm so in love with music, that I quote Taylor Swift in my head.
I walked to my locker and there was a new student in the locker next to me.
He smiled at me,
"Hey, I'm Zack."
Little did I know how much that boy was going to mean to me in the future. He was going to be my whole life, and I wish I'd known it sooner.
AHH! IT'S SO SLOW TO START OFF! I really just wanted to get the point across that Riley has a really hard life. Family and School wize. So Hollywood would mean the world to her. Zack is going to be so amazinnng<3 Chapter 2 will most likely be up tonight, if i get any feedback<3
