Yes this quote is very touching. My classmate has Autism, he is really a nice guy. People tease him and it's just so sad. He doesn't want to come to school and people always mock him. It really is sad, he is the kindest person I have ever met. It really is sad that people tease him, I give him hugs from time to time, since I know he could probably use one. I hope people stop mistreating these kinds of people, like my classmate and your sister.

I have an aunt who is mentally challenged. She is unable to have children, and the state wont let he adopt because she is "unfit to care for a child" My parents have told me this story since i was little. She tried to adopt a baby girl, and the state told her no. she cried for days, she didnt understand. one day, my parents went out and adopted that baby girl. they invited my aunt to live with them, and she was so happy to see she would be sharing a room with the baby. She raised me. i'm proud to be that little baby girl my parents adopted, just for her.<3

i absolutally loovee mentally challegend people. we have a program at our school called rise and play.. where you go to school early in the morining and you get to play with autistic kids. i didnt get picked to go.. but i still attend and they actually like my company. we have two kids in my class who are autistic and i swear to go.. i told my best friend this.. i wish they were my own kids. david is his name.. and he makes me laugh so hard i almost pee when he tells me jokes. and chris.. i acctidenatlly stepped on his foot and i said oh my gosh im so sorry chris. he responded.. oh.. uh.. its okay.. uh.. i want to tell ya something.. i still love ya.. now that the school year is over i miss them like heck and i cant wait to see them next year. i really understand how you feel because a few kids at school always say "oh ur acting like chris !" i tell them "hey guys, you all act like idiots not "retards" cause "retards" no not to say "ur actin like jake idiot!" so really think about what you say when you say "" how about next time you wanna call someone a name just say "dude ur acting like me you idiot!"

i totally agree(: my uncle has down syndrome but he is the most amazing baseball player. people like your sister and my uncle are the most special people in the world and it is cruel to make jokes about them. i love my uncle more than anything and if anything happened to him i dont know what i would do with myself.

thank god i'm not alone! my aunt has downsydrome and everyone at school uses the word retarted as if its just a word for something being stupid and i tell them thats they shouldn't say that and they always tell me to chill out cuz they weren't calling me retarted but that doesnt make it okay to say it ya know? and like some of my closest friends were lost just because i wanted to make a difference in today's youth. it hurts SO bad to hear the word retarded used in an inappropriate way and i wish it could just stop! so thank you for making this quote. and for standing up for all the mentally challenged people of the world.

i know what this is like. my first cousin has a mental disability. shes much less functioning than most because she cant read or spell but she does love to sing. she could sing a song after hearing it just once. it's incredible! shes an amazing girl. Now she is 21 and is out of school. she has a simple job and is living her life with this condition. She is a christian and loves God and i hate when people say that something is retarded because most of them don't even know the meaning of the word. thanks for this quote. i completely understand what you mean.
