- Love hurts Chapter Four Waking up an hour later I realize that Bobby probably already heard about the ambulance by now. He's going to be so worried about me. I walk over and turn on my computer. I sign onto facebook,and see the news feed is basically all about the incident. Around four o'clock my mom had to run to the store. She left and 5 minutes later Bobby came barging through the door. I was laying on the couch and he scared the sh*t out of me. "How could you do this to me!"He screamed. He looked frustrated, annoyed. Definitely angry. I pushed myself back into the end of the couch. "Bobby?" I said softly. "What's wrong? What did I do." He gritted his teeth."You made yourself the talk of the school. You needing a damn ambulance for something so stupid! Do you know how many people came up to me today and asked about what happened. Your so called friend Julia thinks I did this! Do you know how this make me look! I don't know if we can still be together." His fists were clenched. "Bobby-I-I know it wasn't you! It was, j-just a freak accident. Me being reckless is all. I love you Bobby. Pl-please don't leave me." Tears started rolling down my face. "Don't cry." He said aggravated. "Now listen to me. Tomorrow you're going to tell Julia that it wasn't me. We don't need rumors like that spreading around school. You hear me?" I nod my head and he walks over and kisses my cheek. "Did you want to hang out tonight Bobby?"I asked him. "No. I have football practice in twenty minutes. I just came over to talk to you. Now I have to go." He turns and walks out the door. I hear his tires screech as he drives away. I pick up the phone and call Julia. I tell her to stop spreading rumors. That if she didn't Bobby would be very angry with me. I told her that it was all a freak accident. That I just lost my balance. "I know what I saw. And what I saw was Bobby pushing you into a god damn locker Mel!" I hung up the phone on her. It wasn't true. He loved me. He wouldn't do that. I fell is all that happened. --- The next day at school Bobby and I were standing by my locker. People were watching us. I didn't notice though until Bobby mentioned it. He turned to one of the guys. He was new. He just last transferred here last week. He didn't know any better. He walked over to the guy that was staring at us, and slammed the books right out of his arms. "Bobby!" I walked over and clung to his arm. "Come on." I said pulling him away."Get to homeroom, or we'll both end up getting detention." He kissed me hard. Probably letting this guy know he had no chance with me. It was unnecessary though. Bobby knew I loved him. He walked down the hallway into his homeroom. I glanced back at the boy on the floor picking up his books and papers. I walk over to where he is and help him. "I'm sorry about him." I say bending down to get a Calculus book. I hand it to him along with some papers I picked up as well. He looks up and smiles politely."Thanks." He had light blond hair. His eyes were as blue as a pure gas flame. He wore denim jeans and a tight tee-shirt. He was average size. Truth be told he was one of the best looking guys in the school. Not as good-looking as Bobby though. Bobby had shaggy brown hair and dreamy brown eyes. When you stare into them, you could just melt. Bobby was also average size, but Bobby was different. I mean the really big difference was that I loved Bobby. This blue eyed boy looks into my hazel eyes, not with a look of love, but of care."Who was he?" He asks nodding towards Bobby's homeroom. "That was my boyfriend."I say calmly. "He gets jealous quite easily. Doesn't he?" I look down at the floor. And shrug."I guess so." I can feel him slowly moving closer, and his hand rests on my shoulder."Be careful." He says it softly. I quickly shrug his hand away. "There is nothing to be careful of. He loves me. He would never hurt me!" Why does everyone keep saying that I should be careful. That Bobby is the bad guy. He isn't. It's me being clumsy. He looks at me surprised."I never said he would hurt you." - Love hurts Chapter Six The bell rang and I went on to first period. Then second, and finally third. I loved third period because it is the only period where Bobby and I are in the same class. It was English and today we were working with partners. Everyone looked to their lefts and right distinguishing who they wanted as a partner. I already knew that I would work with Bobby though. I smiled at him, and he smiled back at me. There's that sweet smile I've been longing to see for the past few days. Just then Mr.Green speaks loudly."You will pick a name out of the jar and that person will be your partner. This will count as 25% of your grade, and I know with only a month left of school you seniors can not afford to slack off on this assignment." The smile immediately left my face as I gave a confused look to Mr.Green. "Is there a problem Melony?" He asks catching the look I just gave him. "Well, yes! I mean this is our last assignment, I believe it's only fair to pick our own partners. I think the whole class would back me up on that." I turn to look at everyone nodding their heads in agreement. "Melony I understand this is because you want to work with Bobby, but you'll have plenty of time to see your boyfriend after class, school, and whenever else if you don't get him as a partner." Did I just get showed up by a fifty year old gray haired man? I go to sit back down but just before I do Mr.Green adds that since I'm already standing would I do the honor of picking the first name. I look over at Bobby. Then walk up to Mr.Green's desk. Putting my hand into the jar filled with tiny pieces of paper I swish my hand around. "Eyes closed."Mr. Green instructs. I close my eyes. With a paper in my hand I pull it out. Please be Bobby. Please be Bobby. I hold it out in front of me. Mr.Green takes it from my hand and unfolds it slowly. Please be Bobby. Please be Bobby. "Melony your partner is Nate Marks." Mr.Green says. "Please take a seat next to him." I look around the classroom. I have no idea who Nate Marks is. I look at Mr.Green. "Who is he?" A few people giggle. Some girl sucks in her breathe as if I were supposed to know who he was. The only person I ever bothered with in here as Bobby, so how was I supposed to know. "Nate, raise you hand please." Mr. Greens says. I see a blond head of hair and an arm in the air and walk over towards him. He smiles at me as I approach him. It was blue eyes! Hmm. I never knew he was in my class, or that his name was Nate. I smile back at him as I slide into the seat next to him. "Hello again." He says offering out his hand. I look over at Bobby.He is staring at me with such intensity. I look back to blue eyes, I mean Nate, and move my eyes left to right. I hoped he would understand that I was trying to tell him no. To put his hand away. Bobby already didn't like him because he looked at me, but to touch his hand would be much worse. I glanced over my shoulder at Bobby and he put his hand down. "Bobby."Mr.Green says."Would you please come pick out a name." He walked up to the jar and pulled out Jasons name. He seemed happy with that pick. He walked over and sat next to Jason. As soon as the class was done picking partners names and we were settled down in our seats Mr.Green spoke again. "So I'm aware that some of you might not know your partner very well." He looks at me"Or maybe even not at all." The class laughs a little and gives me a few glances. I smile stupidly. "So, why don't you take the time right now to get to know each other. I'm making it your responsibility to get together after school and learn more about each other. This is your assignment. In one month I expect a two page paper all about your partener on my desk. Nothing inappropriate please. You will read these in front of the whole class." This was our big assignment. To learn write a paper all about our partner. What the hell is the purpose of that? If it wasn't for me, wanting to play basketball with her, she wouldn't be going through this. It was already four days, and she hasn't woken up. On the fifth day, I saw her eyes gently open. "Kelsey?" I called. She wasn't quite awake yet. Suddenly, doctors came rushing in, telling me I had to wait outside. I did, for a few hours. One of the doctors finally came out saying, "I understand that you're Kelsey's friend, Aaron?" "Yes," I whispered. He bit his lip. "She woke up, she's fine, but I'm afraid she has long term memory loss." "Are you serious?" I almost shouted. "I'm afraid so." I didn't meet his gaze. I couldn't. I wasn't going to say anything, so he spoke again. "You can go see her if you want, but she doesn't remember anything, not even her mom." I walked in, trembling in horror. I saw her. She looked helpless as she slept. I waited a few hours, until I saw her eyes opening gently again. I expected doctors to run in, rushing me out. Instead, she looked me straight in the eyes, and whispered, "I don't know you, but I like your eyes."
