Brothers Best Friend
Chapter 19
Sitting in my room and flipping through a magazine, I sighed when I came to a page with One Direction. I could barely stand looking at Liam's face right now. I shut the magazine and flipped over, staring up at the ceiling.
If you haven't noticed, Liam and Mike still have been ignoring me as much as I had been ignoring them. I was still a little confused and unsure of who I wanted, it was so frustrating to even think about.
"Hey Ash?" I heard Louis' voice through the door, a slight knocking following his words. I got up and went to open the door, noticing a confused look on his face.
"Liam's waiting for you downstairs."
My eyes slightly opened wide as I thanked him, giving him a quick smile and kiss before walking around him. My heart raced and my palms became sweaty as I slowly walked down the stairs, stopping at the bottom. I just stood there and stared at the back of Liam's head as he looked through the mirror, until he noticed me out of the corner of his eye.
"Hey Ashley." He said as he turned around, giving me a short smile. I said hello as he motioned to the couch, where we moved to and sat down across from each other. It was silent for a second, until Liam let out a sigh.
"You know, when I was a kid, all I wanted to do was be like everyone else."
Liam always knew how to confuse me, starting off on something completely strange and off-topic. I looked down at my jeans and let out a small scoff.
"You wanted to me inconciderable and dishonest?"
Liam turned to me with a puzzled look, creasing his eyebrows together.
"Everyone's not like that."
I sighed, shrugging and shaking my head.
"Yes they are."
It was silent for another minute, until Liam ddecided to speak up again.
"Ash,"
When he called me by my old nickname, I lifted my head and looked straight at hiim and into his eyes, his sparkling orbs that stared back at mine.
"When I'm with you, I don't feel so... alone."
I chuckled to myself and let out a scoff.
"Sometimes it's better to be alone."
I looked down and bit my lip, trying to hold the tears and sadness I had held back for so long.
"What do you mean?" He asked, and I shut my eyes.
"Nobody can hurt you."
I could feel Liam staring at me with sadness and pity, and I jumped when I felt something warm wrap around my hand. After looking back up, I noticed it was Liam's hand. Tiltiing my head up even more, I stared into his eyes that were still locked onto me. I had the want of turning away, but I couldn't.
"I wouldn't."
I was going to look back down but Liam gave my hand a slight squeeze, which caused me to stay looking at him.
"Believe me. You are the most amazing, beautiful, smart, and strongest person I have ever met, and you amaze me. Ever day I find something else about you that I love."
I felt my cheeks flush, and he squeezed my hand harder, but more caring.
"Ash, I would never, ever hurt you."
"And I wouldn't want to hurt you, so..."
He started to lean in towards me, and the butterflies in my stomach raced. Was he was really going to kiss me, and this time not just a pity one? I couldn't wait for him any longer, so I filled the rest of the didstance between up until my lips reached his. His free hand wrapped around my waist, mine snaking around his neck as he pulled me closer. It was a passionate and soft kiss that just had enough of everthing to show both of us that we truly did love each other.
After pulling away, Liam brushed a piece of hair out of my eyes, a grin tugging at his lips. And for the first time in a while, a real one shown on my face as well.
I definitely knew who I was going to chose now.
