Dawn Hochsprung, 47, principal

Mary Sherlach, 56, school psychologist

She and Dawn (the principal) lunged at the gunman and died in an attempt to overtake him.  They loved their jobs and put themselves in danger to protect the children.

Victoria Soto, 27, teacher

She was killed shielding her first graders from danger.  She hid them in a bathroom or closet, ensuring they were safe.  She loved being a teacher.

Ana Marquez-Greene, 6, student

Her family had just moved to Connecticut two months ago.

Lauren Gabrielle Rousseau, 30, teacher

She loved her job and was thrilled to finally become a full time teacher after spending years working as a substitute teacher.

Anne Marie Murphy, 52, teacher

She was an artistic, witty, hardworking, fun-loving and happy soul.   A good mother, wife, and daughter. 

Chase Kowalski, 7, student

He was always outside, playing in the yard, and riding his bicycle.  His neighbor said, "You couldn't think of a better child"

Emilie Parker, 6, student

Quick to cheer up those who needed a smile, she always was ready to make a card or picture.  Her father said, "I'm so blessed to be her dad."

Nancy Lanza, 52, gunman's mother

She hosted game nights and loved gardening.  "She was a very nice lady," a neighbor said.  "She was just like the rest of us in the neighborhood, just a regular person."
