Niall's P.O.V

“Um, I
don’t know guys…” she said nervously.
Honestly, I was kind of surprised that she didn’t want to
tell us about the room. How big of a deal can it be if
she’s this nervous about telling us? It’s just a
music room.
“Come on Lyss! You can trust us with anything now!
We’ve been there for you through the worst. How bad can
this be? It’s just a music room.” Liam said
encouragingly.
Wow Liam, way to steal my thoughts.
I looked over to Lyss and I could see that she was close to
tears. I really want to see what this room is, but it kills me to
see that she’s about to cry over it. Yeah, obviously
it’s a music room but the way that it’s hidden by a
wall makes it seem like so much more.
The writing on the wall? The random journal in the middle of the
room? What about all the instruments? I didn’t even know
she had any musical talent at all. Besides, why should she hide
that in a secret room behind a game room?It just doesn’t
make sense.
Suddenly, Alyssa took a deep breath, jerking me out of my
thoughts, and she started talking softly.
“Well, I guess I can tell you, but you can’t tell
anyone about it.”
She looked at each of us, and we all nodded our heads. She sighed
and continued.
“So, before my mom died when I was little, she showed me
this room. She had always wanted to be a singer growing up, but
when she had me as a teenager it never happened. So once she
died, I took it upon myself to start learning how to play all
these things on my own. No one taught me anything, and I’ve
never shown anyone this room, not even my dad or
Jessie.”
She paused for a second, gathering her thoughts. We all looked at
her in shock.
I honestly didn’t expect there to be that much emotion
behind a simple music room. I could tell the lads felt the same
way. Alyssa was staring at the ground self-consciously, and I
walked over to her quickly.
I put an arm around her, and I could feel her tense up, and then
relax almost immediately when she saw it was me.
“Go on, Lyss. What about the walls… and the
journal?” I asked quietly in her ear.
I only saw her slightly nod before she started speaking
again.
“Anyways, when Louis left I was, um, depressed?”
I looked over to him and a look of pure torture took over his
face as those words left her mouth. She smiled at him in
reassurance, making sure he saw, and continued.
“The writing on the walls is basically my diary, cause
it’s just my feelings about everything that’s ever
happened. Don’t make fun of it! And then when I was
fifteen, I started writing songs about it in my journal. They all
go with the piano and guitar, because I think I play those best,
and it work because almost all of my songs are sad. Never touch
that journal, or I will literally kill you in your
sleep.”
She glared at all of us, but I think she meant it as a joke. Her
mouth was quirked to the side, so I could tell that she was
trying to hold in a smile.
She smirked at our serious faces and I couldn’t help but
crack a smile back. She’s too cute, and she’s musical
too. But if she writes songs, then she must be a good singer,
right?
“So Alyssa…” I said, sounding like a
pervert.
“So Niall…” She said in the same way, and we
both grinned.
“If you can play instruments and write songs, I
bet you can sing too!”
The grin on her face fell slightly, and I kind of feel bad. Is
that a touchy subject for her? “Well, y-yeah. But I’m
no good.”
She said doubtfully, shooting daggers at Louis, who was smiling
hugely.
Did I miss something? Does he know something? What’s
going on?
