When I say I'm not
pretty
I meant it.
No, I'm not looking for attention.
The last thing I want is to be lied to.
People saying, I'm beautiful.
I know all my flaws.
From every freckle to every scar,
Head to toe.
I see parts of me no one else has seen.
I see myself without make-up,
without getting my eyebrows done.
I see all my flaws,
from the roundness of my stomach,
to the dirt underneath my nails.
Don't you dare tell me I'm pretty,
Not until you see the monster,
That is me.
