The
Player Falls Hard
Chapter 19
BRYNN'S POV
I didn't believe Zayn. Harry doesn't want
me back. Why would he?
I've been spending the past fewdays moping around, watching
romantic movies, only to be reminded of how sucky my love life
is. I just recently watched She's All That, and it applied to
my situation perfectly. A girl falls for a guy, only to find out
he's using her as part of a bet. Are all guys like
that?
Today I've just been hanging around my room watching
television and using my laptop. I suddenly heard voices from
outside, and walked over to the window so I could see what was
causing the commotion.
Bad idea. I saw Harry standing outside my front door, and it
looked like he was talking to my father. I wonder what they were
discussing...
HARRY'S POV
"Please, just let me see her." I begged, her dad
blocking my way of entering the house.
"No. I'm not going to let the boy who broke my
daughter's heart into my house. You should leave." he
warned.
"Look, I don't want to disrespect you, but I really just
need to speak with her." I said, my voice cracking. God
Harry, suck it up. Don't cry.
"Listen here kid. She's too good for you. She's
smart, she's funny, and she's a wonderful person. Which
is why she needs to be with a real man. And you're not a real
man." he told me.
"I may not be a 'real man' but I care about your
daughter. A lot." I said.
"I doubt it." he scoffed.
"I love her. I really, really love her."
"Yeah, well everybody thinks their in love at one point or
another. If you loved her, why did you use her? Huh?" he
asked, which I think was a rhetorical question.
"It was stupid, I know. I've been feeling guilty for the
past few weeks, but I can't live without her. My life sucks
right now." I replied.
"You think your life sucks? I know exactly how Brynn feels.
To have somebody that you're in love with just up and leave
you, or do something that hurts you? My wife left me, and she
left Brynn. She doesn't want anything to do with us. And I
don't want anything to do with you."
"Please, just let me speak with her." I tried one last
time, tears starting to fall from my eyes.
"Don't do that. Don't cry." he said, softening
up a little bit.
"Leave. You're not good for her, and she's too good
for you." he said, before closing the door and leaving me
alone, once again.
BRYNN'S POV
I heard a lot of that conversation. I cannot believe what Harry
said. He really, really loved me. And my father hated him. Great.
I wasn't sure how I felt at the moment. Either happy that
Harry actually cared about me, or upset that my father didn't
approve of the boy I loved.
Harry called again later that night, and this time I shocked
myself.
"Hello?" I answered.
"Brynn." Harry replied, breathless.
"Did you need something?" I asked, not trying to be
rude on purpose.
"Yes. I need you."
